Rules: 5. Competition system:
(a) Swiss system with 9 rounds
(b) After 9 rounds top 16 players play play-offs.
Each round of the play-offs, except of course for the last round, players (in order
of places in the Swiss ranking) can choose his/her opponent from the players
qualified for the play-offs. All other players continue playing the Swiss
tournament. Only in the play-offs, following a draw, a G-L tiebreak will be played
with rate 3’+2” Fischer. Losers of the play offs re-enter the next round of the
Swiss tournament with the score obtained in the regular play-off game (if 0 in
regular game: then with 0 back into Swiss, if 1 in regular game and 0 in tiebreak,

(c) Round 10.
16 players play in play-off, others play round 10 of Swiss
(d) Round 11.
8 players play in play-off, others (including 8 losers in play-offs from round 10)
play round 11 in Swiss
(e) Round 12
4 players play in play-off (semi-finals), others (including 4 play-off losers from
round 11) play round 12 in Swiss
(f) Round 13 (last)
Winners from semi-finals play the final match. Losers from semi-finals and all
others play last round of Swiss tournament for the places 3 – till last Piet Bouma: To 'manage' that the finalists in Toernooibase/Tournament finished first and second, a 'virtual' result 3-3 is given to the final Baliakin - Georgiev (1-1*). Changed on 20-12-2014. |
